From JNLP file to running application

The extension detects the JNLP file, starts the CheerpJ runtime and launches the Java Web Start application in the browser.

  1. Install the extension. Add CheerpJ JNLP Runner to Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Open a JNLP application. Navigate to the website containing the JNLP file and launch the application as normal.
  3. Run it in the browser. CheerpJ starts the application without using a local Java Desktop installation.
